CPC Leadership 1974 – 2024

The Session was comprised of the pastor or moderator and twelve elders from 1977 to 1993. During this same period, six members served on the Board of Trustees. In 1994, the Board of Trustees combined with the Session, and Trustees’ duties then fell under the Church Operations Committee. This committee now oversees the buildings and grounds, church offices, and finance.

 

From 1994 to 199, the Session had fifteen elders. Then in 1998, it reverted back to twelve elders. Again, the By-Laws were changed in 2002 to have nine elders making up the along with the moderator. Today, each of the nine elders is eligible to serve six consecutive years. Three new members are elected, ordained, and/or installed each year. In addition to the Church Operations Committee, the Session committees include: Worship and Christian Education, Mission and Outreach, Nominating, and Personnel.

On January 1, 2024, the Session members included these elders: Becky Dawson, Jaimee Wood, Jason Wood, Kayla Belt, Robert Jackson, Karen Wood, Nickie Bingham, and Kelcey Smith. Becky and Jason completed their six consecutive years of service and were not eligible for another term. Robert Jackson passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2024. Currently, the Session includes: Kayla Belt, Nickie Bingham, Cheryl Lock, Kelcey Smith, Jaimee Wood, Karen Wood, Tammy Wright, and Rev. Jeff Carter, moderator.
